Should my firm do more to mentor associates?

YES
Firms, large and small, have all sorts of associate retention and partnership development programs. Unfortunately they’re not having the desired effect. An ABA study found that within eight years of joining a firm, 79.8% of minority male associates, 86.2% of minority female associates, and 77.2 of all associates, left the firm. The economic reality is that the lack of a committed mentor program is probably costing your firm a lot of money in wasted recruiting and marketing dollars, and potential new business.
