Fifteen years ago, we published the first of
our career books for lawyers – Running
From the Law: Why Good Lawyers Are Getting Out of the Legal Profession.
Its
author was a young Seattle litigator named Deborah Arron. Soon
after publication, Arron’s book was accorded the imprimatur of
success by Time Magazine, the ABA Journal, and many other legal and consumer
publications. The author
went on to become a nationally recognized voice in legal career
circles. Two years later, we published Arron’s next book – What
Can You Do With a Law Degree? A Lawyer’s Guide to Career Alternatives
Inside, Outside & Around the Law. Now in a new 5th edition,
it has sold more copies than any other career book for lawyers. Outside
of the ABA, DecisionBooks® is
the only publisher to focus exclusively on the professional and
personal lives of lawyers and law students. Over the next 12 months,
we will be expanding
our line by many additional titles that span the arc of a lawyer’s
working life. We’re especially proud of one of our newest – Should
You Really Be a Lawyer? The Guide to Smart Career Choices Before,
During & After
Law School.
We welcome your interest in DecisionBooks®, and invite your
comments or suggestions for improving and expanding our career
resources for a life in the law.
